Glazed Ham
A family favorite, especially for Easter. In face I can't remember a family Easter where we did not have glazed ham regardless of whether we were at the farm, the lake or at home. Personally I could have just eaten the glaze and the pineapple.
Ingredients
Glaze:
1 cup bread crumbs
Vinegar to moisten bread crumbs
1 tablespoon dry mustard
2 tablespoon (or to taste) brown sugar
Corn syrup or honey
1 can pineapple rings
Maraschino cherries (optional)
1 picnic ham
Preparation
Mix together bread crumbs, dry mustard and brown sugar. Moisten with vinegar. Pour corn syrup over ham to cover, then pat bread crumb glaze on ham to cover. Secure pineapple rings on the ham with toothpicks. you can place a marschino cherry in the middle of the pineapple ring but we usually just had pineapple. Apparently you are supposed to pour apple juice over ham, but my mom said it wreaks the bread crumbs.
Bake in the oven for 3-4 hours at 325. To reduce saltiness of ham you may boil it in big pot on stovetop for 1 hour before glazing and baking
